In 2012, Sery Kone joined a BYU-Hawaii Enactus team with a simple and a clear objective: fight child slavery and the poverty that causes it.
Empowered through Enactus, Kone developed an initiative called WELL Africa. His passion and determination enabled the organization to plan and execute projects that have impacted over 44,000 directly and 2.5 Million indirectly.
WELL Africa strives to educate not only the children, but the farmers, the women and the community. They see potential for progress and amazing change inside each person and recognize that to change Africa from within results in powerful and lasting change.
Today WELL Africa is a coalition of students, academic, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, farmers, and local leaders who are committed to using the power of collaboration, entrepreneurship, and business to provide a long-term solution to issue of child slavery and poverty in rural African communities.
